Clinical Counselling
“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you go; they merely determine where you start.”
– Nido Qubein
Beth is a BCACC Registered Clinical Counsellor and Psychotherapist with over thirty years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families impacted by trauma and stress. She specializes in helping clients find healing, improving well-being, and building healthier, more meaningful lives and relationships. Beth's experience includes working with clients struggling with a variety of concerns, from depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, grief/loss and struggles with forming or maintaining healthy relationships to coping with emotionally stressful experiences such as relationship conflicts, job loss or dissatisfaction, burnout and chronic stress.
Beth believes a compassionate, client-centred therapeutic approach, prioritizing a strong therapeutic alliance, is foundational to a successful therapeutic process. She prioritizes clear communication, evidence-based techniques, and goal-oriented strategies as a therapist. Balancing warmth and empathy with directness, Beth helps clients unpack what's getting in the way of the life they desire, gain valuable insights, and make tangible progress in navigating complex emotional or relational terrain with clarity and purpose.
Beth's integrative approach draws from various therapeutic modalities, including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), attachment-based therapies, somatic techniques, and family systems. With a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and ongoing professional development in trauma treatment, attachment theory, and mindfulness, Beth is committed to providing cutting-edge, effective care. A passionate learner, she regularly completes professional development training in mental health, psychotherapeutic practice and leadership. Her client-centred, integrative approach means combining elements from different therapeutic theories, approaches, and techniques to tailor interventions to her clients' unique needs and preferences.
Beth's clinical experience includes working in community-based general and family counselling centres, child sexual abuse treatment programs, and private practice.
