
About Beth
Over the last 30 years, Beth has served as a psychotherapist, executive, and management consultant assisting individuals and organization in achieving meaningful change. Her psychological training in systems and trauma recovery enabled her to utilize a diverse set of skills and strategies to deliver sustainable results for her clients.
A community-minded, commercially-focused, social enterprise management and business consultant, Beth has expertise in strategy, operational management, organizational change, business development, and workplace mental health. Her passions are helping leaders and organizations advance the impact of their social enterprises in financially sustainable ways.
Beth’s professional experience includes working with government, non-profit organizations (particularly in the family services sector) and small businesses. She has a diverse background that spans child welfare, community social services, mental health and the employee assistance/workplace health sectors.

Beth possesses a strong business acumen and a strong foundation in mental health/psycho-therapeutic practice and workplace health. She is considered particularly skilled in helping businesses during difficult times of crisis, change and turnaround management. Beth believes in a holistic approach to business management that focuses on organizational competency, productivity, innovation, responsiveness, and unwavering commitment to workforce and customer/client care.
Prior to founding Beth Rees Consulting, she was the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Family Services Employee Assistance Programs (FSEAP) for the Pacific Region, an accredited, social enterprise business division of Family Services of Greater Vancouver (FSGV). With annual revenues of $2,000,000, and a team of 22 staff and over 200 contract affiliate/consultants, FSEAP-Pacific provided Employee and Family Assistance Programs, Workplace Health Consulting, and Crisis Management Services to over 475 organizations/employers in Western Canada. While at FSEAP, she achieved 47% revenue growth (in three years) and annual client satisfaction rates of 97% or better by re-aligning organizational structure and talent to support business strategy, client and account service, and new business and product development. Her focus on streamlining operations, outcomes-driven account and client service, and continuous quality improvement lead to transformational change. In addition, to her role as President and CEO of FSEAP Vancouver, Beth served as Vice President of EAP, and was responsible for the development of FSGV's Risk Prevention and Management Plan and Social Enterprise Framework.
Before her role as CEO, Beth served as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Clinical Operations for FSEAP and was responsible for developing its master's level clinical intake-crisis line service, clinical counselling program systems, and network of clinical providers and consultants. Additionally, while at Family Services of Greater Vancouver, Beth was responsible for the executive management of its Adoption Agency.
Beth's Board experience includes serving as a Regional Director and Chair of FSEAP National's Management Committee--a sub-committee of Family Service Canada's Board (2011-2016), and Director and President/Co-President of the BC Council for Families Governance Board (2018-2022). During her Board appointments, Beth served as chair Strategic Planning, Quality Improvement, and Human Resources Committees, as well as a member of Marketing and Fund Development Committees.
Beth has a Bachelor of Arts degree (Psychology) from Loma Linda University and a Master of Arts degree (Clinical Psychology) from Pepperdine University. She is a member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (Registration No. 2181) and the Employee Assistance Professionals Association. Beth holds certifications in Critical Incident Response for the Workplace and EMDR Levels I and II. She is a practicing clinical counsellor and psychotherapist and maintains a private practice working with individuals (adults) and couples.
Based in Pemberton, British Columbia, she works with clients across Canada.
